Deliciously Tender Garlic Butter Steak

I’m a huge fan of quick, one-skillet meals. Spending a little extra time in the kitchen doesn’t bother me, but I absolutely love creating recipes that are quick and easy, taking only minutes from start to finish.

This garlic butter steak recipe is another delightful addition to your collection of one-skillet favorites.

It’s all about simplicity and flavor – tender steak, plenty of fresh garlic, and flavorful butter (or ghee if you prefer!). This dish is hearty, satisfying, and ready in no time, making it a perfect choice for any occasion.”

What Is The Best Cut Of Steak To Use?

For this recipe, the best cut of steak to use is one that is tender and has minimal visible fat. My personal favorite for this dish is top sirloin.

Top sirloin is tender, easy to cut, and doesn’t have a lot of marbling, making it an excellent choice for this recipe. Other great options include New York strip steak, tenderloin, or ribeye.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Steak: For this recipe, you’ll need steak. Choose a good quality cut like ribeye, New York strip, or sirloin.

Butter or Ghee: I recommend using a high-quality butter like Kerrygold or ghee for extra flavor.

Fresh Garlic: Lots of fresh garlic cloves will give the steak plenty of flavor.

Salt and Pepper: A simple but essential combination to season the steak.

Parsley: Fresh parsley adds a nice touch, but you can omit it or use dried parsley if you prefer.

Green Onion: Use green onion for garnish and extra flavor.

Red Pepper Flakes: Add a bit of spice if you like, or omit them if you prefer your steak without spice.

Ingredients You’ll Need

Step 1: Start by seasoning both sides of the steak with salt and pepper.

Step 2: Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Once the skillet is hot, add the steak and cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side for a medium-rare doneness. If you prefer your steak more well-done, cook it for a bit longer. Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest on a cutting board.

Step 3: In the same skillet, add the butter or ghee and minced garlic. Cook the garlic for 1-2 minutes until it becomes fragrant, stirring constantly to prevent burning.

Step 4: While the garlic is cooking, slice the steak thinly against the grain. Once the garlic is fragrant, return the sliced steak to the skillet with the garlic butter. Toss the steak slices in the garlic butter until they are well-coated.

Step 5: Transfer the steak and garlic butter to a serving platter. If desired, garnish with chopped parsley, chopped green onion, and a pinch of red pepper flakes for some extra flavor and color. Serve the garlic butter steak immediately while it’s still hot and enjoy!
